NEW tagging procedure for large items:
We are going to be using a NEW claim ticket for all LARGE items (think items that won't fit
in a blue IKEA bag). To make drop-off go faster...
1. Print up TWO identical tags for all large items
2. DO NOT attach tags to large items. (place the two tags into a plastic bag and attach the
bag gently to the item)
3. At drop-off a volunteer will attach the duplicate tags to the large item claim ticket.
If you forget to print a duplicate tag for your large items, you can hand-write the tag
information on the large item claim ticket at the sale. But having the duplicate tag will SPEED
UP your drop-off time!
Before you PRINT your Tags:
A couple of IMPORTANT tips about our tags: Tags MUST be printed on WHITE
CARDSTOCK only. Plain paper will tear and tags can easily get lost. Colored cardstock is
reserved for special groups (charities, etc.)
Your Tags will print out 8 to a sheet and should fill most of the page with a small border
around the outside. Be sure your tags are printing out clear barcodes. If your barcodes are
blurry or faint you may have to re-print using a different printer setting. If you have any
questions or problems with your tags please do not hesitate to contact us! We are here to
help!
Before you ENTER your Tags:
To save yourself time it is best to organize your items before you enter your information
into our tagging system. Your tagging will go much faster if you group your items by category
(toys, books, clothes) and gender and size (for shoes and clothing).
Make sure your items are in excellent condition and have not been involved in ANY kind of
re-call.
Before you ATTACH your Tags:
Clothes: Must be in season. Make sure there are no stains, tears or missing buttons and
secure all zippers, snaps and buttons. Hang all clothing on hangers pointing to the left (so it
looks like a ?). Make sure all accessories (hats, socks, bibs, etc.) are attached to the hanger
as well. The tag needs to be attached with a tagging gun (NO PINS!!!) into a seam.
When looking at the item, the tag should be on the right hand side. (Under the armpit, the
seam inside the sleeve for a shirt, in the seam of pants). DO NOT tag to the FRONT of an
article of clothing where there is no seam. You will put a hole in your clothing and it will
no longer be sellable!
Shoes: Please bring only your best as worn-out shoes just don't sell. Zip ties work great
for keeping shoes together, but you are also welcome to tie the laces together. Tag can be
attached with a tagging gun or zip tie.
Toys and Baby Equipment: FOR ALL LARGE ITEMS, see large item tagging
instructions at the top of this page! Make sure it is clean and the batteries work. Small parts
must be placed in a sealed clear plastic bag and securely attached to the main part (zip ties
work great for attaching the bag). Your tag can be attached with a tagging gun or zip-tied to
the main item or placed inside the attached bag. As a consignor, YOU are responsible for
checking for recalled items. If you are not sure please check online at the links on the top of
this page.
Games and Puzzles: Make sure all pieces and instructions are included. Seal loose pieces
in a clear plastic bag and place the tag inside the bag. Plastic wrap works great to wrap small
wood puzzles so you can see the shapes and not loose any of the pieces.
Videos, DVDs, CDs, and Books: Look over all CDs and DVDs to ensure there are no
scratches. You may attach tags on individual items with packing tape. On books you can use
blue painters tape or gift wrap tape to attach the tag so that the book cover will not rip
when the tag is removed. For everything else, please use packing tape as it is much stronger
and tags are less likely to separate from the item.
Furniture: Furniture must be assembled in order for us to sell it. You may need to allow
yourself extra time at drop-off to assemble your items. If a crib includes a mattress please
indicate so on the tag. We DO NOT accept ANY cribs manufacured before June 28,
2011! The tag needs to be securely attached to the furniture either with packing tape,
tagging gun, or zip-ties. If you are selling multiple items together only make ONE bar-coded
tag. In the description state how many items are included in the set and list each item. Write
your consignor number and the same description on index cards and place these tags on all the
other items in the set. DO NOT put a price on the index cards.
Car Seats: We have a car seat waiver (located on the downloads page) that must be filled
out for each car seat you want to consign at our sale. Car seats must be less than 4 years
old, contain all parts and manufacturer's instructions. As a consignor, YOU, are responsible
for checking for recalled items. If you are not sure if your car seat has been recalled you
can check online at the links at the top of this page.
Stuffed Animals: We do not accept stuffed animals at our sales. If the toy lights up or has
sounds of any kind, we consider this a toy and not a stuffed animal and you are welcome to
sell it. We are collecting donations of gently used stuffed animals for The Dougy Center if
you would like to donate your stuffed animals.
